The Daily Memo - 3/12/08
Eliot Spitzer’s little, uhm, slip up, has folks asking if prostitution should even be illegal in the first place. (Above the Law and Slate)
“Italian high court rules that women wearing jeans cannot be victims of rape.” Yup — a chick in tight jeans must have given her consent because how else did the jeans come off? (Nota Bene)
Ha! The House Judiciary Committee has sued Harriet Miers and Josh Bolton, and it’s going to be a mess. (Law.com and WSJ Law Blog)
Of magnum condoms, little dicks, sexual battery and Florida. (Above the Law)
“Could Spitzer lose his law license?” (WSJ Law Blog)
The Supremes on video? It’s like “Girls Gone Wild” only, you know, without the drunken coeds. …Unless the camera goes into the Scalia’s chambers. (Law.com)

Comments
Why is prostitution illegal, anyway? It should be legalized. Give those people proper medical care, standardized wages, and get them off the streets. Is our society really so concerned with the appearance of nicety? Do they really think that more people would use prostitutes if they were legal? If the moralists are really concerned about it, why don't we spin that if it's legal, then the thrill of doing something illegal is gone, and then fewer people would go to prostitutes. I doubt it, but that's what we can say.
Sorry, I have kind of strong feelings about this.

While the Italy story is horrible and shocking, it's also almost ten years old.
