Who wears short shorts?
Reader Alyssa sent us the amusing clip embedded below, figuring we’d enjoy it. She figured right. I totally have to remember the “I was dressed so cute” defense. And stay tuned to the end of the video, because my personal favorite bit involves a poor tombstone that didn’t know what it had coming.

Priceless...

It annoys me that this is on the news, wherever it is. Sure, that judge is probably a jerk/bitch (I think it was a woman judge), but this girl should have worn appropriate clothing. It's not that hard to put on some pants, especially when she'd been asked to in the past. I love how she's going to ask for another judge from now on, that's clearly going to work. Like she's planning on going back to court/not clean up her act. There are SO many losers out there!

But she looked cute. Maybe even adorable. Doesn't that count for something?

Really, look at it from the girl's point of view--the judge is just totally picking on me because I am wearing this cute top and shorts while she has to wear that ugly black shapeless thing. The same way that cops pick on me because my car is so cute, my boss picks on me because my desk is so cute, and so on.

To quote Nigel Tufnel: "That's not real, is it?"

It's happened to me a number of times. The judge calls me up to the bench, warns me about what my client is wearing and tells me that I have to tell them to dress more appropriately for the next hearing. He only does it with women (he has two daughters of his own and he doesn't like "nightclub shirts" in court) and he always makes it my problem instead of his. I think he just doesn't understand that for a lot of my clients (most of whome are pretty "low rent") this IS dressing up for court.
