What is satisfaction?

Within the context of a will, satisfaction refers to where someone already received the property the will says they should inherit. For example, your grandmother’s will may state that you inherit her gold necklace when she dies, but she may give you that necklace before she dies. In this case, the will’s gift has been satisfied because you got the property you were entitled to, so you would not get anything else during the probate of the estate.
