What is Ambien?
Ambien is a prescription sleep aid that’s been in the news recently because some people who take the pill have allegedly experienced the sleep-eater phenomenon. Most notably, Rhode Island congressman Joseph Kennedy claimed to have no memory of crashing his car in the middle of the night after taking Ambien (other evidence, however, suggested that he was simply drunk).
At any rate, Ambien is a popular sleep-aid for those suffering from insomnia. However, there have been a lot of recent reports that people taking Ambien suffer from sleepwalking, memory loss, and engage in binge eating and sexual activity, only to wake up with absolutely no recollection. Some people have also claimed that they drove while sleeping, and others have even allegedly showed up at work with absolutely no recollection of their workday.
If you are taking Ambien and you have experienced any of these side effects or suffered any injuries as a result, you are advised to speak to an attorney. You may have a product liability claim against the makers of Ambien, Sanofi-Aventis, if these side effect can be linked to a defect in the drug.
