What are Baxter pump lawsuits?

In November 2005, Baxter International Inc. informed the FDA it was withdrawing the 6060 Multi-Therapy Infusion pump because of problems happening when the device is used to distribute pain and other critical medications. The pump, which delivers intravenous medications, is commonly in home and non-hospital settings; the withdraw will take about 12 months to complete. The recall is the result of reports that the pump can shut down while delivering medication and fluids to patients. The recall comes on the heels of reports of one death and two injuries attributed to the pump.
