Must I be injured at my workplace to be covered by workers comp?

Although almost all work-related injuries are covered under workers’ compensation insurance plans - even if it was the employee’s own negligence that caused the injury - the injury does not have to occur at work, so long as the injury is work-related. This is not the case, however, if drugs or alcohol were involved or if the injury resulted from a violation of company policy (either onsite or offsite). Work-related activities include, but are not limited to, business travel (not including commuting), work-related errands, or even business-related social functions.
