What is the new nonbusiness energy property credit?

With the Energy Policy Act of 2005, Congress created two new credits for energy improvements folks make to their residential homes – this nonbusiness energy property credit and the residential energy efficient property credit. This nonbusiness energy property credit allows you to take a credit for any qualified energy improvements made to your home, such as the installation of energy efficient exterior windows.
