What is Google AdSense?

Google AdSense is an advertising program run and maintained by Google. Publishers of individual websites can enroll in the AdSense program, and ads are then placed by Google on the publisher’s website (Google uses various algorithms to match the ads as closely as possible with the site’s content). When a site user visits the site and clicks on any AdSense ad, the advertiser pays a small fee to Google, and a portion of that fee is passed on from Google to the website publisher (this is known as pay-per-click). Google generally makes monthly payments to publishers of all such advertising earnings.
