Do I have to pay taxes on Social Security benefits?

It depends; if your other income in addition to your spouse’s income is high enough, you may have to pay taxes on a portion of the benefits. You only use ½ of your Social Security income to calculate the amount, however. For more information, check IRS Publication 915.
