Can I deduct my health insurance?

Generally, the premiums paid for your health insurance are deductible as medical and dental expenses. Only those premiums that you actually pay can be included, so if your employer pays for a portion of your health insurance, that percentage of your premium is not deductible (and obviously, if your employer covers all of your health insurance premiums, you cannot claim it at all). However, if your employer includes its premium payments on your Form W-2, then you can claim those as deductions (because it was really your money covering the premium).
