Can I transfer property to a friend or relative to keep it from my spouse?

In the anger of divorce, many spouses seek to keep property from the other spouse by, for instance, selling at a bargain price or transferring property to a friend or relative to keep it out of the marital property, with the understanding that the property will be given back after the divorce. However, such transfers are considered fraudulent, and frowned upon by divorce courts, which can - and often will - reverse the fraudulent transaction.
