What is the Copyright Office?

The United States Copyright Office is a branch of the Library of Congress which deals with federal copyright registrations. The Copyright Office receives registration applications, registers copyrights, issues certificates of registration and keeps records of all copyright registrations (including any assignments and/or licenses that are filed).
