What is an anonymous work?

The Copyright Act defines an anonymous work as a work where no natural person has been identified as an author on the work’s copies or phonorecords. It does not matter if the public actually knows who the author is - if the copies and phonorecords do not include the author’s identity, the work is anonymous.
