What is the charter document that creates a corporation called?

For a corporation, the charter document which essentially creates the corporation is generally known as the articles of incorporation (although some states refer to it as the certificate of incorporation). By way of comparison, the document which creates a partnership is called a statement of partnership or a certificate of limited partnership, and the document which creates an LLC is generally called the articles of organization or the certificate of organization.
