What are the managers of an LLC called?

LLCs are controlled and managed in two different ways. Some are controlled by some of the members/owners themselves, who are known as managing members. Others are controlled by outside parties, who are just known as managers. By way of comparison, a general partnership is generally managed by all of its partners, a limited partnership is generally managed by its general partners, and a corporation is generally controlled and managed by its directors and officers.
